Venturer Scouts
is for young people from 14 to 17 years of age. The
program is flexible, allowing members to choose activities according to
their own interests. A group of Venturer Scouts who meet together
on a regular basis form what is called a "Unit".
Venturer Scout activities in the
District are coordinated by the District Venturer Scout Council (DVSC), which
consists of Venturer Scouts from all Units in the District.
The DVSC meets on the second Monday of each month (except January).

There are four active Venturer Scout Units in Charles S.
Snow District. They meet at
Burul Scout Group/Nundah-Northgate
Scout Group,
Stafford
Scout Group and Wavell Heights Scout Group on Friday evenings. Although each Unit has its
own identity and activities, the Units have frequent District and
joint-Unit events, and, in some ways, could sometimes be seen to operate
as a 'virtual District Unit', under the coordination of the DVSC.
Venturer Scout Units from outside Charles S
Snow District are invited to participate in Charles S Snow District
Venturer Scout Events listed in this calendar. Please contact any
of the District's Units at least one month prior to the event to confirm
your attendance.

Remote Area First Aid
Course
A two-day course or equivalent, open to all members over the age of 14 years who
hold a CURRENT Senior First Aid Certificate. The aim of this course is to
provide the participant with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to
deal with most injuries that are likely to occur in everyday life while living
in remote areas or participating in activities in remote areas, eg: expeditions,
camping etc.
Courses can be arranged for a minimum number of six. Apply to the Training
Department, Queensland Scout Centre.
Advanced First Aid Course
A two-day course, open to all members 14 years of age and over who hold a
CURRENT Senior First Aid Certificate. This course includes advanced
resuscitation and defibrillation.
Courses can be arranged for a minimum number of six. Apply to the Training
Department, Queensland Scout Centre.
